IGANZ was born and bred in Auckland, New Zealand with a raw passion to grow the sport of long drive. After just 16 months IGANZ’s international schedule has grown to 8 events in 4 countries  (New Zealand, Australia, Pacific Islands, and China).  The worldwide footprint of IGANZ has now expanded to a third continent with the opening of its’ first office in Africa.

Erik van der Walt, Ryan Louw and Gabriel Le Roux have been appointed IGANZ ambassadors to lead the company’s efforts in South Africa. Between these three South African Executives they have achieved many accolades in the sport of Long Drive on both the national and international stage including:

  • 3X Re-max South African Champion;
  • 2X Top 8 finishes at Re-max World Championships;
  • 1X South African Champion;
  • Fastest ball speed ever recorded in competition at the 2010 World Long Drive Championship and the record stood for five years;
  • Ranked World #5 in 2009;
  • Ranked World #3 in 2010

According to Olna Ford, Founder and Director of IGANZ, “I couldn’t think of better representation for IGANZ in South Africa.  Erik, Ryan and Gabriel are legends to the sport and are well-respected by their peers, so it’s a great honour for these three to fly the IGANZ flag!”  Ford adds, “IGANZ is about growing the sport of Long Drive with everlasting integrity and opportunities for all players.”

IGANZ South Africa will be announcing a series of long drive events culminating in the selection of a South African National Team to represent the country in the IGANZ Tri-Nations Long Drive Series in which South Africa will go head-to-head against New Zealand and Australia.  Knowing the competitive passion that exists between the three nations the event is a logical extension of IGANZ’s promotional efforts for the sport of Long Drive.

IGANZ SA is well-equipped with knowledge given the mix of credentials as players. The three ambassadors, in addition to being world class competitors, are stern businessmen ready to develop the sport to new heights in South Africa. Ford adds that, “This is an absolute benchmark moment for IGANZ globally!”
