Long Drive Golf Magazine strives to provide the most in depth coverage worldwide of the sport of Long Drive with coverage of events on five continents. Its’ slogan is “we give you what you want; more distance off the tee.”

The magazine has further upgraded its’ coverage of the sport by hiring Hall of Fame long driver Mike Gorton as an Assistant Editor.

Gorton is a five-time world champion whose smooth and powerful swing allowed him to become one of the longest and straightest hitters in the history of the game. His swing stood the test of time and as he won world titles in four different divisions over a 27 year span. His world titles included: an Open Division title in 1987; a Senior Division title in 2000; back-to-back Super Senior Division titles in 2007 and 2008; and a Champions Division title in 2014 at the age of 60.

Gorton’s five world titles ranks tied for second with fellow Hall of Famer Bobby Wilson behind only Jason Zuback’s six.

The magazine’s editor, Rich O’Brien, said “I’m really excited to work with Mike. His passion for the sport is virtually unrivaled. He loves to share his knowledge of what it takes to become a top long driver, as well as ideas of how to grow the sport.”

Meanwhile Gorton added, “I am really excited to be joining Rich and the magazine. He loves long drive and together we should be able to push the sport forward. We share a lot of the same vision like making LD a truly international sport, as well as seeing more teams representing their country.”

In his role with the magazine, Gorton will help create content, set up interviews, and sell advertising for the magazine. This role should be a nice extension of what he is doing for Volvik as their Tour Rep.
